My Dreams Come True...

WHEN YOU CRUISE WITH STAR CRUISES, YOUR HOLIDAY IS IN SAFE HANDS...

Our mission is to ensure that your cruising experience is as enjoyable as it is safe.

NAVIGATIONAL CONTROL SYSTEMS THAT MEET INTERNATIONAL MARITIME STANDARDS.

As the world’s third largest cruise line and also one with the youngest and most modern fleets, Star Cruises prescribes to the International Safety Management Code (ISM). Our Scandinavian Captains and officers are experienced and skilful masters in their field, while our crew constantly undergoes training to help upkeep the shipboard safety practices. Star Cruises is the only cruise operator to have a Cruise Simulator Centre that refines best practices in port entry procedures, emergency situations and bridge resource management.
RAPID RESPONSE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT.
We have illuminated fire exits for each room and exit signages along every passage. We have a centrally monitored smoke detection and alarm system and a public announcement system connected to each room and deck. We also have a evacuation map in each cabin, showing all the exit routes and the nearest lifeboat station. Star Cruises vessels are prepared for any emergencies including helicopter evacuation, and isolation/quarantine facilities in times of need.
SOPHISTICATED FIRE CONTROL SYSTEMS.
Every Star Cruises’ vessel has an advanced fire control system like the hi-fog which release a mist of water droplets at high pressure. In addition ships like the SuperStar Libra also have 320 fire extinguishers and nearly 270 hydrants spread all across the ship on every deck. Our fire extinguishers are checked monthly and we conduct a comprehensive fire drill involving our trained fire fighting team every week.
EXEMPLARY SERVICE AND ATTENTION IN CASE OF ANY MEDICAL EMERGENCY.

Seasickness medication is available free of cost at the reception and our medical centre. We have a doctor on call 24 hours and a trained medical team to assist him. All our activity centres undergo careful scrutiny so that mishaps can be preempted and prevented. However in case of a medical emergency we have an ICU, a laboratory, an X-ray room and medication for cardiac and gastric ailments.

SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY.

Most mobile networks are beyond reach when the ship is in international waters. Hence passengers who wish to communicate via phone have the option to use the ships’ satellite phone for a nominal fee. However during an emergency, guests can use our satellite communications facilities free of charge.
EVERY SHIP HAS ITS OWN ONBOARD SECURITY TEAM.
Since security is also an integral part of Star Cruises’ operations, security personnel have been posted on strategic parts of the ship to ensure complete safety. These security personnel comprise of mainly ex-military personnel of the Nepalese Gurkhas. We maintain a high level of security, ranging from 24 hour patrols onboard to the screening of embarking passengers and goods being brought onboard with equipment like scanning machines and metal detectors. The ship security and safety teams constantly work hand in hand in overseeing procedures like the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers as part of the overall operation of the ships.
24 HOURS OF FRESH WATER AND FRESH AIR.
To make your trip truly memorable and to ensure that there is limitless supply of fresh portable water, Star Cruises has its own state-of-the-art desalinization plant on every ship, that can produce upto 1,800,000 litres of water each day. This is the water that is supplied to the rooms, to the swimming pool and Jacuzzi, etc. We also stock approximately 60,000 litres of bottled mineral water on an average per ship, for consumption every 24 hours. Our air-conditioning system operates on a 100% intake of fresh air instead of recycled air; this ensures fresh air is available all over the ship & open decks.
DELICIOUS & WHOLESOME CUISINE.

With a huge number of passengers holidaying with Star Cruises, the food we serve is of paramount importance. Not only are our chefs trained to provide our patrons with delicious Indian and international cuisines, they are trained to cook them keeping in mind world class cruise safety and hygiene. Our team of approximately 245 chefs and service staff on an average per ship, cater to our F & B outlets. All cooking is done on electric ovens and hot plates so as to ensure there is absolutely no possibility of a fire hazard. Moreover vegetarian meals are cooked in a separate kitchen, keeping in mind the sentiments of some of our guests.

HIGH PASSENGER INVOLVEMENT.
At Star Cruises, we have been fortunate to have some of the most co-operative and vigilant passengers onboard. However accidents can happen anytime and, without the support of the guests, rescue or accident control systems would be less effective. We have taken every precaution to provide adequate safety measures in case of any mishap. Hence we appeal to all passengers onboard to pay complete attention to our safety demonstrations and participate in our drills.

FASTEST AND MOST EXTENSIVE WATER RESCUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS.

One of the first things you do when you get onboard any Star Cruises’ ship, is participate in the lifeboat drill for passengers that includes training on how to wear a life jacket. Our life jackets are approved by SOLAS and USCG, the globally recognized standards. On the SuperStar Libra even though the maximum passengers and crew allowed onboard are 2724, we have approximately 4300 life jackets. These life jackets are located in every cabin and at all assembly and abandon ship stations. Our life rafts and lifeboats can rescue 3405 passengers.
